Victory is ours on September 21st!

• Let’s Build a Prosperous, Developed Nation for Future Generations.

• Reject the Bankrupting Policies of Sajith and Anura.

• Moving Forward with the Program that Will Secure the Nation’s Success- President Declares at Final Victory Rally in Colombo.

On September 21, President Ranil Wickremesinghe declared his victory as enduring and reaffirmed his commitment to implementing a plan to build a developed nation with a robust economy by uniting all citizens. He emphasized that, putting politics aside, he stepped forward in 2022 for the country’s sake, and he remains dedicated to fulfilling his responsibility of creating a prosperous future for the nation’s youth in collaboration with the people.

President Wickremesinghe made these remarks at the "Ranil Can" victory rally in Grandpass, Colombo, today (18). This event marked the final rally in a series of nationwide public gatherings in support of the President’s 2024 re-election campaign, which saw a large turnout from central Colombo.

Addressing the crowd, the President stressed that what he seeks is the people's mandate to build a stable economy that will prevent the country from facing bankruptcy again. He expressed confidence that on September 21, the people would reject the failed policies of Sajith and Anura, which have contributed to economic instability. The President vowed to continue his program for national success by bringing together all those who are committed to the country's progress.

Prior to attending the rally, President Wickremesinghe participated in a "Adhisthana Pahan Pooja" ceremony at Independence Square in Colombo, where young professionals organized the lighting of determination lamps to bless the President for his victory in the upcoming presidential election.

Minister Dinesh Gunawardena:

In 2022, Sri Lanka faced a situation where the country and the state existed, but there was no leader. At that time, the opposition groups did not take charge of the country. Experienced leader President Ranil Wickremesinghe took on the challenge. He secured the presidency with the majority support of Parliamentarians. At that time, Sajith Premadasa did not contest in the Parliamentary Presidential Voting and was instead represented by Dullas Alahapperuma.

Sajith Premadasa is seen as a leader who avoided challenges. Anura Kumara Dissanayake received only three votes in Parliament. These three votes are what he uses to claim he can govern the country. How does he plan to enact laws? Sajith Premadasa brought three no-confidence motions against the government, all of which failed. While the President worked to address the people's suffering, Sajith Premadasa and Anura Kumara Dissanayake only engaged in political posturing. Over the past two years, their focus was on the Presidential Election, while President Ranil Wickremesinghe worked to solve the people's problems. I urge the public to evaluate the actions of these leaders over the past two years and vote accordingly. The only leader capable of stabilizing the economy is President Ranil Wickremesinghe. I believe the people of Central - Colombo will support him in the upcoming election.

Chief of the Presidential Staff and Senior Adviser to the President on National Security Sagala Ratnayaka,

Thirty-nine candidates have come forward for this year's presidential election. When former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was looking for a leader to hand over the country two years ago, there were thirty or so and not a single leader came forward for that. On the 21st, our people will decide whether or not to hand over this country to the leaders who fled in the face of the challenge.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe took charge of the country in the face of the challenge and ended the era of queues in this country. Arrangements were made to provide food, fuel and gas without shortage within six months. It also caused a structural change in the economy. The Economic Transformation Law was introduced and new economic management programs were started.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe has been able to stabilize the economy of this country today. The majority of MPs expressed their support to the president for that. The President has already worked to give the confidence to the international community to strengthen the economy. The issue of whether to continue that trust or not will be decided in this election.

We have arranged to sign the agreement with every country that has taken loans. It must be said that it is not possible to change international agreements on election platforms. If those agreements are cancelled, the country cannot be stopped from falling into economic decline.

Only President Ranil Wickremesinghe has the ability to move the country's economy forward, which is being built formally with a plan. If that formal system is destroyed, the economy will collapse again. Now the rupee has strengthened, there is no shortage of goods needed by the country, and at the same time the people have been reassured. Freehold land rights have been given to the people through the “Urumaya” program. The president has already signed a number of free trade agreements. By building the economy of a country, people can create an environment where they can live with their backs straight in front of the world. It can be done with the economic programs carried out by the President. Sri Lanka wins with President Wickremesinghe’s victory. For that, I request you to collect energy from central Colombo.

The Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province, Naveen Dissanayake, UNP National Secretary Ravi Karunanayake, Members of Parliament Rajitha Senaratne and Premanath Dolawatta, former Minister Faiszer Musthapha, former MP Thalatha Athukorala, and former Colombo Municipal Councilor Kitsiri Rajapaksha expressed their views at the event.

A large gathering was in attendance, including members of the Maha Sangha, other religious leaders, Professor Maithree Wickramasinghe, Minister Tiran Alles, Members of Parliament Yadamini Gunawardena and A.H.M. Fowzie, as well as Provincial and local political representatives.
