President visits Amarapura Maha Nikaya Mahanayaka Thero

President Ranil Wickremesinghe visited the Headquarters of Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Nikaya this morning (28), where he met with and received blessings from Amarapura Maha Nikaya Mahanayaka Most Ven. Karagoda Uyangoda Maithri Murthi Thero.

As part of President Wickremesinghe’s election campaign, the President sought the blessings of Maha Sangha led by Mahanayaka and Anunayaka Theros of the Amarapura Maha Nikaya.

Afterward, the President engaged in a brief discussion with the Maha Sangha, focusing on the current economic, social, and political landscape.

The President stated that his decision to run in the upcoming presidential election was motivated by a desire to successfully complete the program he has implemented over the past two years, aimed at helping those affected by the economic challenges and creating a background to prevent future economic crises in the country.

United National Party (UNP) Vice Leader and Senior Advisor to the President, Ruwan Wijewardene, along with several others, were also present at the event.
